Sports in Nigeria has always been only football while other sports are relegated to the background. Government funding of sports has not and is not helping matters either. Since all attention had been on football, other sports became beggars to source for both players and fund to manage the players as well as acquire required equipment/material needed. Hockey being the game played by JESUS CHRIST himself "The Good Shephered" became my choice right from my school days. Not because I could not play football but because it was a game I just loved. With encouragement from my sports teacher (Late Mr Olaitan Kuye) and my Mother Mary T. A Ayinla, I opted fully for Hockey and today, I am happier. Although the money is not there but there is peace and joy in addition to personal satisfaction that I have been able to contribute to the development of the game in my country and in my own little way. Henry A. Adesola (Coach) was my coach and an inspiring factor in the set up of this club but the following people among others actually helped in combining the club with an academy. Messers Tunde Popoola (UBN Lagos Nigeria), Jaiyeola Folarin (1st V-Chairman NigeriaHF), Captain Fatai Atanda (NHF), Joshua E.Theophillus, Tunde Odedokun (Coach UBN), and many others too numerous to mention in Nigeria.
